Our Commitment to Accessibility
Accessibility is a human and fundamental right, essential to living independently and equally and participating fully in all aspects of life. While accessibility is often discussed in relation to persons with disabilities, it benefits everyone—from parents with strollers and elderly people to someone with a temporary injury or pregnant women. Yet, many buildings and environments remain inaccessible, making it difficult for people to access essential services, workplaces, and public facilities.
At CBM India, as an empaneled access auditor under the Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan) by the Government of India, we work towards breaking down these barriers through our accessibility audit services so that everyone can navigate the world with dignity and ease. Each access audit also helps organiszations identify barriers and work towards compliance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities RPwD Act.
How We Do It
Our team conducts a detailed assessment of physical spaces across various sectors, such as offices, government buildings, schools, and healthcare facilities. These access audits, guided by the Universal Design principles, help identify obstacles and provide practical recommendations to make spaces more inclusive and welcoming for everyone. These recommendations are guided by Universal Design principles so that spaces can serve people with diverse needs.
In the past, we have conducted access audits of the following spaces.
Educational Institutions
Corporate Workplaces
Hospitals and Health Facilities
Public Buildings and Transport
