Our Commitment to Inclusive Health
Quality, affordable, and inclusive health care is a fundamental right of every human being. However, healthcare accessibility can be limited for marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities, due to various barriers. These may include financial constraints, limited accessibility, discrimination and stigma, and lack of awareness about available resources and programs.
Our approach prioritizes inclusive health for all, focusing on both treatment and rehabilitation to address existing impairments and conditions and prevention strategies to reduce their occurrence. We are committed to providing accessible medical services and ensuring that everyone receives the care they need.
How We Do It
As our flagship program, inclusive health is a cornerstone of our efforts to improve the quality of life of
persons with disabilities and other marginalized communities.
Inclusive Vision Centers
This community-based eye care model brings quality eye care services closer to those in need. Through community outreach and screenings, we identify individuals in need and provide them with primary care. For specialized treatments, we collaborate with trusted local partner hospitals.
Low-Vision and Rehabilitation Services
Under this model, we support private, government, and NGO hospitals to establish low-vision clinics and services. We also provide specialized training for healthcare professionals, enabling them to deliver exceptional care tailored to the unique needs of individuals with low vision.
Eye Screening Initiatives in Schools and Communities
Apart from eye screenings, we conduct awareness activities about the importance of eye care and early detection of visual impairments and vision issues.
Assistive Devices Distribution
We provide essential assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, eyeglasses, walkers, canes, and more, to help persons with disabilities live more independently.
Ear and Hearing Care
From early detection to ongoing support, our hearing care programs integrate screenings at community health centers and primary health centers, screenings of newborns, hearing aid distribution, and speech and hearing therapy services.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Through our programs, we identify children with clubfoot, counsel the parents, and treat this congenital condition using various techniques, apart from offering regular therapy and follow-up visits. This allows us to treat the condition before it becomes a permanent disability.
Capacity Building of Health Workers
As an integral part of our inclusive health programs, we prioritize capacity building for healthcare providers. Through training and workshops, we foster their understanding of disability rights and disability inclusion contributing to a more equitable health system.
